Ministry Tip of the Week
Jesus accompanies us on our journey into the heart of God. In the early stages, we haven't yet uncovered the purpose of our life, but even then he's with us. He is patient. He is tender. He's with us as we discover who we are, who he is, and the ultimate meaning behind our life experiences - the joys and the trials.
In his latest "letter" to the universal Church, Pope Francis urges us to embrace the wisdom of this approach:
"...pastoral workers can make present the fragrance of Christ's closeness and his personal gaze. The Church will have to initiate everyone - priests, religious and laity - into this 'art of accompaniment' which teaches us to remove our sandals before the sacred ground of the other. The pace of this accompaniment must be steady and reassuring, reflecting our closeness and our compassionate gaze, which also heals, liberates and encourages growth in the Christian life."
