What is Confirmation?

Welcome to High School Confirmation!

In this powerful Sacrament we are given personal access to the moment of Pentecost, when God sent His Holy Spirit down upon the Apostles in radical fullness. This is the Sacrament of Strengthening, through which the full power of God's Spirit is unleashed in our souls-that we might grow in greater intimacy with Him and in turn build up His Body, the Church.

Over the course of 2 years, all high school youth are invited to delve deeper into the great mystery of our Faith and open their hearts to receive the gift of
divine life that God longs to shower upon us all.
Come, Holy Spirit!

(Most commonly, high school youth will complete this process over their 9th and 10th grade years, however, anyone grades 9-12 is welcome.)

Vision from the CCC

The Catechism of the Catholic Church lays out a clear vision for the goals of Confirmation Prep. Our focus is on three fundamental relationships: Christ, Spirit, and Church. Everything in our programmed is designed to help us open up to these relationships and to discover the beauty and joy of Catholicism through them.
“Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit – his actions, his gifts, and his biddings – in order to be more capable of assuming the apostolic responsibilities of Christian life. To this end catechesis for Confirmation should strive to awaken a sense of belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ, the universal Church as well as the parish community” (CCC 1309).
