Vocations Crucifix Program

Due to COVID-19 we have suspended handing out the Vocation Crucifix Packet; however, prayer will continue.

"The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest."                                                                                            -Luke 10:2

Prayer Changes Everything!

What would we do without our priests?  No priests, no Eucharist. No priests, no absolution of sins. No priests, no anointing of the sick, and on and on and on. Sounds extreme, but if you look at the current situation, we are facing a priest shortage. This reality is painfully apparent as many parishes (not just St. André Bessette) face church closings and twinning of churches because of the lack of priests. The day may be near when some parishes will only have communion services since there are no priests available to celebrate Mass. The harvest is definitely abundant; but, our priests are getting older and fewer,  making it our duty to pray for vocations and to support the  priests we currently are blessed to have. Ask any priest about their discernment process and their subsequent priesthood and they will confirm that prayers and encouragement from others were and still remain invaluable. Fervent, consistent prayer is powerful and can bring about seemingly impossible change. Let us offer up our prayers for the Master to call more laborers to His harvest and may these people be open to hearing His call in their lives.

How Can You Help?

Prayerfully consider taking home the Vocations Crucifix for one week to pray for vocations. You will be provided with all the necessary items and daily prayers for the week to complement your current prayer life.  With just a few additional minutes spent in prayer each day, the fruit gained could be enormous. If you are interested in making an impact on the life of a young person, please sign up on the forms provided in the back of both churches. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions using the form below.
