Intentional Evangelization

Picture
Many callings exist in the Church, but two vocations are common to us all.

Each and every baptized member of the Body of Christ is called to be holy and evangelize.

Evangelization is the Church's mission.
More specifically, it's the Church's raison d'etre. The Church exists to evangelize.

We first evangelize ourselves - personal holiness
(for we cannot give what we do not have)
- then we evangelize others - common mission.

In the diagram to your left, our vision for how to answer this call as a parish is expressed.

Under "Personal Holiness" you will find the core of our parish life.

Simply put: solid, dynamic, and ongoing faith formation coupled with a thriving, close-knit, and welcoming community forms the foundation for, and fosters our active participation in liturgical worship.

Filled with Christ, his love then flows out of us.

Under "Common Mission" you will find the structure of our "good works" or the fruit of our love for Christ in active service to neighbor.

Simply put: various forms of outreach to our surrounding community coupled with much needed ministries to edify parish life animate and define our missionary service.

COMING SOON: An in-depth look at the various ministries at SAB Parish and how they fit into this vision of Personal Holiness and Common Mission...
