Living in the Promise
As a Christian, what is God's Will for me?
As a Christian, what is God's Will for me?

When any human father wants to ensure an inheritance for his children, he makes out a "Last Will and Testament". Is our Heavenly Father any different? Do you want to know God's Will? Do you want to know the magnificence of your inheritance in Christ? Then study His Word!
Jesus says in Luke 11:13, "If you then, though you are sinners, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"
So, why does Jesus tell us to ask the Father for the Holy Spirit? Can't we just ask Jesus?
Don't we say, every Sunday, in the Nicene Creed:
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
So, let us listen to the voices of the prophets.
Samuel informs us, "Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed [be in submission] is better than the fat of rams."
Hosea prophesied, "My people perish, they are destroyed because of lack of knowledge". Hosea 4:6 About God, Hosea also states,
"For it is love that I seek, and not sacrifice; knowledge of God more than burnt offerings." Hosea 6:6 ISV
St..Jerome firmly insists, "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ."
These three strong witnesses urge us to really know our God. That not knowing Him puts us on unstable and dangerous ground.
Moreover, not knowing God in His Word is ignorance of Who He is. If we don't know Who He is, how can we know our inheritance?
Jesus, himself, says, "It is the thief who comes to kill and steal and destroy. I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." John 10:10
St. Paul exhorted the Ephesians: "Therefore, I, too, hearing of your faith in the Lord Jesus and of your love for all the holy ones not cease giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation resulting in knowledge of him. May the eyes of [your] hearts be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope that belongs to his call, what are the riches of glory in his inheritance among the holy ones, and what is the surpassing greatness of his power for us who believe, in accord with the exercise of his great might," Ephesians 1:15-19
So! Where is our spirit of wisdom and revelation? Where is our hope? What are the riches of glory in His inheritance?
Could it be that we have been robbed by the thief who comes to kill and steal and destroy because we lack knowledge?
Jesus knew his identity. He stood as Son of God because He knew His Father. He had the knowledge He needed to have life and have it to the full. He chose to lay it down for the love His Father has for us.
Do you know, comprehend, understand your identity in Christ, or are you sick, depressed, worn out, sad and defeated? Has joy been stolen from you? Has health been stolen from you? Do you have life to the full?
Isaiah tells us that "by His stripes we are healed," and 1 Peter 2:24 reiterates, "by His stripes we were healed."
Proverbs 3:1 says, My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; for length of days and yuears of life and abundant welfare will they give you," while Proverbs 5:20-23 proclaims, "My son, be attentive to my words, incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within hour heart. For they are life to him who finds them and healing to all his flesh."
Physical Healing Scriptures
Many people believe that God is able to heal but they aren’t sure whether He will heal them. If that’s you, then please carefully read each of these Scriptures. Notice how much God wants to heal His children. You don’t have to do something to earn His love or His healing touch—just believe what He says and do what He tells you to do. Start by speaking these verses aloud. Meditate on them. Believe them. That’s how we release God’s power to heal—by speaking His Word and trusting His ability and His willingness to heal all of our diseases and infirmities.
Psalm 103:1-3
BLESS the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits--
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases.
Who redeems your life from the pit,
and crowns you with mercy and compassion,
Who fills your days with good things,
so your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.*

I shall not die but live, and shall declare the works and recount the illustrious acts of the Lord.
Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [curing their pains and their sorrows].

And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; they will pick up serpents; and [even] if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well.
Matthew 4:23-24
And He went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news (Gospel) of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every weakness and infirmity among the people. So the report of Him spread throughout all Syria, and they brought Him all who were sick, those afflicted with various diseases and torments, those under the power of demons, and epileptics, and paralyzed people, and He healed them.
Matthew 8:16-17
When evening came, they brought to Him many who were under the power of demons, and He drove out the spirits with a word and restored to health all who were sick. And thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases.
James 5:14-15

And the prayer [that is] of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will restore him; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Emotional Healing Scriptures
1 Peter 5:7
Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

Spiritual Healing Scriptures
When we accept Christ as our Savior and give Him our lives, we become new creatures in Christ Jesus and have access to all of the healing and wholeness He offers. It’s a transformation that begins in the spirit and as we mature in God it is enjoyed and seen in
our soul and body. It is important to understand we are a spirit, we have a soul, and we live in a body, and God wants to fill all of us with His Spirit and work through us to reach others. This work is accomplished by the Holy Spirit and God’s Word and is a process that takes places throughout our lives.
It is vitally important for us to be strong in spirit. When we are, then we can resist the temptation to sin and not let the cares and anxieties of the world weigh us down and distract us from our purpose. Christ died to set us free from sin and death and all the
bondage it causes. He wants us to live in His Presence and enjoy abundant fellowship with Him. These scriptures will act as medicine for your spirit and help you stay strong.
John 3:16-17
For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!
1 Peter 2:24
He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.
Colossians 1:13
[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.
Psalm 103:2-3
Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits—Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases.
2 Corinthians 4:16-17
Therefore we do not become discouraged (utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear). Though our outer man is [progressively] decaying and wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day after day. For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!].
Romans 8:1-2
Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.
Romans 8:10
But if Christ lives in you, [then although] your [natural] body is dead by reason of sin and guilt, the spirit is alive because of [the] righteousness [that He imputes to you].
Psalm 27:4
One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.
Psalm 16:11
You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
